 Ph.D. in Physics, ETH Zurich, Switzerland (2023)

 B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Uni. of Ljubljana, Slovenia (2015 and 2017)

 Urban completed his PhD in the group of Prof. Jérôme Faist at ETH Zurich (Switzerland), where he developed an integrated photonics platform based on planarized terahertz quantum cascade lasers and frequency combs. Previously, he conducted research on nanowire lasers at TU Munich (Germany), radiation-hard semiconductor particle detectors at CERN (Switzerland), and silicon solar cells at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia).

 He is also passionate about science communication and 3D graphics, plays several  
musical instruments, likes basketball and volleyball, and enjoys discovering new places
