Metamaterials for 10.6 um lasers

We have leveraged our expertise in diamond nanofabrication to create, in league with Element6, the top diamond supplier in the world, new windows for high-power optics at CO2 laser wavelengths. By patterning the diamond surface with a periodic, sub-wavelength structure, we can induce near unity transmission and even make a quarter wave plate, all within an all-dielectric platform. This research has been developed into a product by Element6, released in 2015 as their PureOptics line of high-power diamond windows.
